A Latif Girach and Hanif Girach, leading entrepreneurs, founded Cable Manufacturers. They saw the potential in manufacturing electrical cables in Malawi, and hence commenced this business. The manufacturing plant was set up in the early 1990's in the well-known Chirimba Industrial Area in the City of Blantyre, Malawi. Cable Manufacturers manufactured Malawi's first stranded copper wire as far back as 1996 and produced the country's first Aluminium conductor in 1998.
