Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC) and National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME) have joined hands to promote and develop SMEs in the country.

The Partnership between MITC and NASME was disclosed during an award presentation to NASME’s best performing farmer for 2019 which was presented to Mrs. Masiye Nyangwa of Guy Series Poultry.

This event is the first of its kind and it represents a major milestone for MITC. We are exceptionally happy to be working with NASME and taking on businesses with export potential under our product development program,” explained Mrs. Cindy Kimbombwe, Director of Trade Promotion and Facilitation at MITC.

The chairman of NASME Mr. Mwale expressed his gratitude in working with MITC.

As NASME, we are always working towards the development of thriving SMEs and when we saw the potential Guy Series Poultry has, we immediately thought of introducing them to MITC. We know that MITC has the capacity to further develop our SMEs including finding bigger markets for them. It is therefore such a delight to be working with MITC for the benefit of our SMEs.” Explained Mwale.

The award was presented through MITC symbolizing the working relationship between NASME and MITC and represented an official business handover of Guy Series Poultry from NASME to MITC for continued guidance.

While NASME exists to nurture SMEs for domestic markets, MITC through its product development program builds capacity for SMEs preparing them for export.
