The Government of Malawi through the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi in Bruxelles has identified a financing opportunity that Malawian companies can access through the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC).
The Common Fund of Commodities (CFC) is an autonomous intergovernmental financial institution established within the framework of the United Nations. The Agreement Establishing the Common Fund was negotiated in the United Nations Conference on trade and Development (UNCTAD) from 1976 to 1980 and became effective in 1989. The first commodity development project was approved in 1991.
The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) is inviting applications for financial support from qualifying projects. The CFC offers a range of financial and technical instrument of support to meet specific needs of SMEs/enterprises/businesses, cooperatives and institutions along the entire commodity value chain in its member countries.
For those interested in participating in the programme, a webinar has been organized on 8th February 2023 from 15:00 to 16:00 CET. The purpose of the webinar is to provide guidance to enterprises on the application process.
