1. Background
GBI Holdings Limited (GBIHL) is a private company wholly owned by the Government of Malawi, established as the business investment arm of the Greenbelt Authority. GBIHL is authorized to carry on unrestricted business and has companies under it including Salima Sugar Company Limited (co-owned with AUM Sugar & Allied Ltd), Greenbelt Greenhouse Limited (co-owned with Inosselia Agro Africa Limited) and Nchalo Greenbelt Initiative Limited (co-owned
with Nchalo Smallholder Cane Growers Association).

In the pursuit of its mandate, GBIHL invites investors (local or international) to jointly develop various irrigation and agro-processing projects to contribute towards transformation of Malawi into a wealthy nation in line with the Government of Malawi agenda and programmes as charted in both the MGDS III and Malawi Vision 2063.

2. Scope of the Projects
The project scope entails joint project development activities of a detailed feasibility study, designing of irrigation or agro-processing facilities, establishment of a joint venture (JV) company between GBIHL and investors, and operation of the JV Company.

3. Proposed Projects
The proposed projects for collaboration and joint development are:
A) Rice Irrigation Scheme Project
B) Cannabis (industrial and medicinal) Irrigation Scheme Project
